The rating for the overall concept is 7. I like the attention to a specific part of a band and that its viewed as a tv show such as Jay Leno, But I would have liked to see this show be involved a little bit more. (such a day in the life of a percussionist.) The story structure was extremely organized by sound. The basic drum beats to a more complex one lead to a small climax. Nothing too extreme. Are these percussionist on the show doing similar things. I guess im not sure if these certain beats are recognized as something more that fundamental... it could be livened up to a specific genera of people on the show.(not just beginners) Still confused why a nut cracker is used for a character. Im hoping this is a seasonal tv opener.. maybe an outfit on this dude could make it more personal to your tv show along with the back round. Everything is generic and lack character that is needed to set a tv opener apart from another. even the type treatment is a common transition from one side of the screen to the next. What about creating type coming in on some beat...? I dont see a story being told other than peoples names that are involved in it, I think its nice that you used an object that could represent percussionist as a whole but its still not personal to your tv show. The first type comes on too fast and isn't readable the first couple times. the duration of the type needs to be worked in with the sound sense the sound is the strongest (to me) of your tv opener. such as at the end you could have capitalized on lining up percs with every drum hit but instead it throws me off. Again I think the transitions from frame to frame is generic fade in fade out. I would have liked to see more sudden transitions along side the sound once again. So for the hierarchy I feel like all the channels are really separated but really trying the join in some areas. I go from sound of crowd to drums, pay attention to the drummer trying to line these up.. I hardly notice the text unless its alone on the frame. I do think this breaks out of convention by not having a voice over but still has some roots by adding in the crowd noise as all talk shows have. this I think could have been more suscessfull with a voice over for guest though because I never here the host. I just get a name. thats not enough. ALrigh sweet man.
